We extend our invitation for you to get involved in WREN by joining the Network. However, In order to do so, it is critical for you to understand our policies and procedures.

1. Mission
a. The mission of the Washington Regional Equity Network (WREN) is to define and work
towards a set of specific near-term initiatives that increases the commitment of regional leaders
to equitable development and that place equitable development at the center of regional
priorities.
2. Membership
a. WREN is a network of organizations, thus member organizations designate one or more
representative(s).
b. Individuals may also join WREN.
3. Structure
a. WREN has a charter Leadership Council whose members represent WREN member
organizations. WREN's Leadership Council will serve until a new leadership body is designated
in Fall, 2007.
b. Representatives of member organizations are voting members and may vote on decisions
brought before the membership. Member organizations may only have one vote, regardless of
the number of representatives they
designate to participate in WREN.
c. Individual members participate in WREN but do not vote on decisions brought before the
membership.
4. Decision Making
a. Decisions are brought before the membership in at the Spring and Fall membership
business meetings.
b. Decision-making will be by consensus except in cases when a majority of the membership
present requires a vote.
c. Decisions by vote will be decided by a simple majority of members present at an advertised
membership meeting.
d. There will be records of all decisions taken during the Spring and Fall membership business
meetings.
