June 2007
June 19, 1-4p: Members, thank you for a successful 2nd General Body Meeting!

At this meeting members had the opportunity to "meet and greet," sign up to participate in regional
work groups, and participated in a FREE ActionMedia training workshop on strategic issue re-framing
and effective communication for social advocates.

March 2007
Thank you for a successful March 6 general body meeting, where members selected a campaign for
each metropolitan jurisdiction to adopt policy to track displacement due to development
. As a
result a "displacement" work group has formed.
October 2007
WREN Fall 2007 General Body Meeting
October 23, 1-3 PM

Cheryl Cort, WREN member and Coalition for Smarter Growth policy director, presented CSG's
"Blueprint for a Better Region" and shared examples of how nonprofits, community, and civic
organizations have worked together to improve how our communities look and function.

Following Cheryl's presentation, Curtis Watkins of WREN member Life Starts discussed how he
generates interest about regionalism among his constituents in Prince George's County and East
Washington.

This was also an opportunity to meet and greet WREN members from across the region and learn
more about the Shared Prosperity, Regional Collaboration, and a developing Regional Health
Working Group.
