Regional Health Equity Interest Group
|
The Regional Health Equity Interest group is WREN's newest issue group. Members came together
for the first time in November 2007 to begin building relationships and determining what they want to
organize around. At their first meeting, participants spoke in detail about the inequitable distribution
of health resources across the metropolitan region. Compared to the western portion, there are
disproportionately fewer practitioners and provider organizations. Additionally, health status is
disproportionately worse on the eastern side of the region.
Regional Health Equity Interest Group members plan to meet eight times in 2008 and become a fully
operational working group. For more information, interested organizations and individuals are invited
